About Hardwood Concepts

Hardwood Concepts is built on the lifelong friendship of company owners Chris Adams and Greg Phillips. The two met in fifth grade and quickly discovered their shared interest and skill for building, repairing, and tinkering in workshops and garages. After college graduation Greg, who attended Old Dominion University and received a masters degree in engineering convinced Chris, who received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Radford University, to move south and the two began work in 1996 to launch the business they dreamed of owning.

Over the past decade a lot has changed. The company grew from a two-man shop operating in a small 1,100 square foot workspace to a well-known and well-respected business that employs 35+ professionals, operates out of a 22,000 square foot facility and serves some of the most recognized names in the Hampton Roads area.

But some things will never change at Hardwood Concepts. Chris and Greg have stayed true to their guiding business principles: to always honor God first and value their friendship, families, employees, clients and company’s reputation above all else. That commitment has earned Hardwood Concepts a solid reputation with clients, vendors and partners. It is a commitment that is embodied in the way Chris, Greg and their team of employee partners deliver value to customers every day and give back to the community that has so strongly supported them.
